After doubling in listener hours each seven months for three years, the Hober audience doubles in the first three months of 2001. "We've hit a chord with our human sounding music on the internet" says gregor markowitz. "We're topping 50,000 listeners at nearly an hour average listening each now - a number which is enviable in the internet broadcasting world and makes Hober one of the largest internet stations in history. Plus, it's free, we don't spy on you and there's no ads so far".
The station broadcasts in 16 kbps mono and 64kbps broadband stereo, and has hit 15 glorious megabits per second, of outgoing folk music data, on busy afternoons.
